Being in the Moment

Recently I realized I have quit carrying my phone when I walk my dog.

I guess I found it distracting.

Instead, I let her lead and see where she takes us. To the beach, around the block, along the road. It doesn't really matter where we go. I look at the sky, the trees, and the birds...and then I just get immersed in the moment seeing what comes to me.

Intuition is a bit like this...when we set our phone's aside and just be present, we begin to know things, feel things, or see things.

There could be a message in the sweetness of the air on our cheek, seeing the change of color on the water, or noticing a different birdcall.

In these quiet moments we may have an AHA realization, an intuitional hit, on something we've been seeking guidance on.

Intuition wants space to spread out and come to you. When you try to cram it into a few minutes when your mind isn't busy it doesn't work as well.

It's in the pause when the mind is quieter, that intuition sneaks in.

Of course there are multiple fleeting moments in the busyness of daily life where you can also know something but the wideness of a walk without distraction invites more.

So what's your dog walk? When are you setting the phone down and inviting a drifting, quiet mind?

Have you been feeling frustrated you aren't tuned into your intuition?

Take yourself on a slower walk.
Drift, look around, feel, listen, and watch. Soon enough you'll begin to find yourself having knowings...those intuitional moments of inner understanding...

Happy walking my friends!
